This sensational 1930s ivory silk gown with gold horizontal stripes exudes glamour and elegance. The fabric on the bodice is very finely gathered at the centre, creating a wonderful sunburst to flatter the bust. This dramatic feature is mirrored by the rushed, 3 quarter length puff sleeves which are delightfully feminine and balance the silhouette. The fabric on either side of the waist is again, finely gathered allowing for a little ripple in the fabric around the midriff and navel. The dress is skilfully tailored to fit snugly over the curve of the hip, and cleverly designed to ensure that the floor sweeping skirt fans out from just above the knee giving the piece a captivating movement when worn. There is a zip fastening to the left that cleverly follows the line of the dress over the waist. This special piece has all of the magic of 1930s Sunset Boulevard, and is not simply occasion wear but could make a breathtaking bridal gown. Would best suit US size 2-4, UK 6-8. Our model is a UK 6-8 and 5ft 4in (163cm) and this dress was a little roomy on the bust but otherwise fit her well.
